This article refers to the individual song and not the 3 song medley. Although some albums call the medley after this individual song, in this wiki you can find it as The Floor Show.

"Rose Tint My World" is a song from theatrical and cinematographic productions of The Rocky Horror Show since 1973 to this day, including the 1975 original film, the 2015 tribute production celebrating 40 years, and the 2016 reimagining film. Music and lyrics were composed by Richard O'Brien back in 1972 while the original musical arrangements are from Richard Hartley.

It was originally performed by Little Nell, Rayner Bourton, Christopher Malcolm, and Julie Covington in the original 1973 stage production, by Boni Enten, Kim Milford, Bill Miller, and Abigale Haness in the 1974 Roxy production in Los Angeles and the original Broadway production, by Maureen Elkner, Graham Matters, John Paramor, and Jane Harders in the 1974 Australian production, by Little Nell, Trevor White, Barry Bostwick, and Susan Sarandon in the 1975 original film, by Linda Davidson, Adam Caine, Adrian Edmondson, and Gina Bellman in the 1990 West End Revival, by Kristen Lee Kelly , Sebastian LaCause, Jarrod Emick, and Alice Ripley in the 2001 Broadway Revival, and by Annaleigh Ashford, Staz Nair, Ryan McCartan, and Victoria Justice in the 2016 reimagining TV film.

As mentioned above, this song is part of a 3 song medley called "The Floor Show", along with Don't Dream It, Be It and Wild and Untamed Thing.

Context

To open the floor show, and all dress up, Columbia, Rocky, Brad and Janet share their own experiences with Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Columbia tells how everything was fine until Frank got bored of her and decided to create a muscle man. Rocky is still very confused as he is only seven hours old but he’s enjoying his sex experiences. Brad is suffering inside and cries out for help but is useless as everyone are still mentally abducted. Completely opposite, Janet is very happy with the recent events and the lost of her virginity.

  • Lyrics from the 2015 individual remastered version of the 1975 original film song

Columbia:
It was great when it all began
I was a regular Frankie fan
But it was over when he had the plan
To start working on a muscle man

Now the only thing that gives me hope
Is my love of a certain dope
Rose tints my world
Keeps me safe from my trouble and pain

Rocky:
I'm just seven hours old
And truly beautiful to behold
Now, somebody should be told
My libido hasn't been controlled

Now the only thing I've come to trust
Is an orgasmic rush of lust
Rose tints my world
And keeps me safe from my trouble and pain

Brad:
It's beyond me, help me mommy
I'll be good, you'll see
Take this dream away
What this, let's see, I feel sexy
What's come over me?
Here it comes again

Janet:
I feel released
Bad times deceased
My confidence has increased
Reality is here

The game has been disbanded
My mind has been expanded
It's a gas that Frankie's landed
His lust is so sincere
