"Superheroes" is a song from theatrical and cinematographic productions of The Rocky Horror Show since 1973 to this day, including the 1975 original film, the 2015 tribute production celebrating 40 years, and the 2016 reimagining film. Music and lyrics were composed by Richard O'Brien back in 1972 while the original musical arrangements are from Richard Hartley.
It was originally performed by Christopher Malcolm, Julie Covington, and Jonathan Adams in the original 1973 stage production, by Bill Miller, Abigale Haness, and Graham Jarvis in the 1974 Roxy production in Los Angeles and the 1975 original Broadway production, by John Paramor, Jane Harders, and Arthur Dignam in the 1974 Australian production, by Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon, and Charles Gray in the 1975 original film, by Adrian Edmondson, Gina Bellman, and Jonathan Adams in the 1990 West End Revival, by Jarrod Emick, Alice Ripley, and Dick Cavett in the 2001 Broadway Revival, and by Ryan McCartan, Victoria Justice, and Tim Curry in the 2016 reimagining TV film.
The 2016 version is the last studio recording of Tim Curry in a song related to The Rocky Horror Show, 43 years later to his first recording of Sweet Transvestite in the Original London production back in 1973.

After Dr. Frank-N-Furter, his creature Rocky Horror, and his groupie Columbia are killed by Riff Raff, the castle is now revealed to be a spaceship set to return to Transexual, Transylvania. Then, Brad Majors, Janet Weiss, and Dr. Scott crawl outside, completely devastated by the events that happened to them that night.
Lyrics[]
- Lyrics from the 1973 original London stage production:
Brad (with company):
I've done a lot, God knows I've tried
To find the truth, I've even lied
But all I know is down inside I'm (bleeding)
Janet (with company):
And superheroes come to feast
To taste the flesh not yet deceased
And all I know is still the beast is (feeding)
Narrator:
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time, lost in space
And meaning
