It's been more than ten days since our site was updated to the Unified Community Platform (UCP) and we have solved most of the problems that we initially had. It was difficult to get the Discord server administrator to help us with the widget, but we now get the invitation button to the server to appear. I clarify that this widget is not to my liking and I prefer the previous one, but apparently it simply does not work on this new platform, so I will have to get used to this new widget.

Finally we were able to solve the problem of the buttons since they all appeared with the default color of the site, red, but we were able to change the social buttons that appear on the main page for their respective colors (different shades of blue), now visitors can notice the difference between buttons. Like the previous topic, it is not something that has been to my liking since before we used a simple programming so that the buttons would appear according to the color of the social network, however, since they are now all red we had to modify the programming and despite the color does change as before, we have lost that darkening effect that appeared when the user brought their cursor close to the button. I know it's silly, but it's a shame as it used to look really good and now it looks like a small image; in fact, there is no difference between that button with a lot of programming and an image.

New affiliates to our site[]

In other more joyous news, we are pleased to announce that there are now two wikis that are our affiliates and we are affiliated with them, which are “Cats Wiki” and “Wicked Wicki”. We are very happy because in the twelve years that this site has been running, we have not had any affiliates so this is an important milestone for us. We will be looking for more communities to join so that the number of visitors continues to grow, but for now we are happy with our first two affiliates. We invite you to visit their communities and discover new and fresh content.

Almost 20 thousand[]

It was obvious that the number of visitors we were having in October was due to the proximity to Halloween, the last time we reported important numbers, but we are happy to share that on October 31, 2020 we had twenty thousand visitors on the site, a number very important and pretty good for us. Now, already in November, the number of visitors has fallen to 1500-2500 per day, but it is still good since for a long time the average was 700-800 and therefore we are seeing an increase of 200% and hopefully it continues.

What's next for our community?[]

We will continue to figure out how the UCP works and the amount of changes we will have to make to the site in the next few weeks, but now we know that it is somewhat minor since the most difficult thing has already been solved. Stay tuned to upcoming blogs for interesting news. ✌😀
